This CNN headline makes me happy and sad: Same-sex couples marry in Michigan shortly before court halts licenses
As many of you know my husband and I had a Texas wedding in 2006 and we had a legal California ceremony in 2013. When we dropped off our tax information to our accountant this weekend, and we informed him we're now legally married! He shook our hand and said, "congratulations you've earned the marriage penalty. You'll now pay more in taxes."
We'll have to wait to see were the numbers land, but we're always willing to pay equal taxes for equal rights.
