Republicans Hate Homos

I read this headline and my head wanted to explode in frustration: "Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell Rolls Back Non-Discrimination Protections For Gay State Workers" This means that gay workers could be fired for being gay. It is 2010! I can't believe he signed this executive order in 2010! I've never understood why Republicans have consistently taken a hard line against homos. Why can't they just let it be? Why do they have to be against us? Republicans have become the party that panders to the lowest common denominator; it's embarrassing.

  1. Hello. I guess I'm a "republican" - and I don't hate you. That's a broad statement on your blog headline there. I love you and think you're wonderful.

  3. Thanks for your kind words Nikki!

My headline to this post was intentional. I didn't say "All" Republicans Hate Homos, which wouldn't have been fair; however, I think saying that Republicans Hate Homos is fair. It's the party that keeps proposing legislation that would make me unequal to my brother (and the rest of the Heteros in this nation).

Like you, most of my family members are Republicans. They love and support us too, but silence is mistaken for consent in our world; McDonnell is pandering to a slice of the Republican party- but I can't stop his foolishness. I always tell my Republican friends and family to not tell me they support gay rights- tell their party! Republicans will ride this "wedge issue" until fellow Republicans call them out.

And, one of the reasons I maintain this blog is to prove that our love is the same; not more or less- the same. In this life I just want the same rights as my brother...but we are treated the same.
