Our friend's girlfriend's roommate volunteers at an animal rescue on the weekends. A few months ago Gracie came in from the streets and she wasn't putting any weight on her right paw; the vet discovered a bullet in her right paw. Our friend's girlfriend's roommate was originally Gracie's foster parent, but he ended up adopting her. Gracie has had several surgeries and she has spent months in a cast. Her vet bills have reached over $4,000 and my friend is "passing around the hat" trying to help out with Gracie's vet bills. Gracie's father is young, he's only a few years out of college, and I think he's putting all of Gracie's vet bills on his credit card.
