I want to know...
...is it wrong on Wednesday nights when I'm at home alone (my husband travels for business) or when I'm at a hotel alone (sometimes I travel for business) I like to watch QVC's In the Kitchen with David? I work. David keeps me company.

I want to know...
...is it normal for a 33 year old man (me) to spend many moments in the day contemplating the fate of Harry Potter? I know the final book was released in 2007, however I recently came across a super Harry Potter fan who analyzed the prophecy a different way, and now I want to re-read the books.
via HPWombat:

"I am a huge Harry Potter fan. And while I love the series...
...I thought the ending would be a lot different. This is my version of how it should have ended.
There was a part of the prophecy that could have gone a different way:
either must die at the hand of the other
for neither can live while the other survives
In the book it means that, in the end, one of them will have to kill the other. What if it meant something else, instead? What if it meant that the only way either of them could die, would be at the hand of the other?
either must die at the hand of the other
Meaning the one who didn't die had no other means of achieving death. This means that by killing Voldemort, Harry sacrifices his death. It's made clear to us that death is the only way he'll ever be with his loved ones. Dying isn't such a bad sacrifice to make. But sacrificing his own death and living forever would be the ultimate sacrifice for Harry. By killing Voldemort, Harry would become immortal, never seeing his family or friends in death.
Harry Potter would, forever, be The Boy Who Lived."

I want to know...
...why a stomach virus is my kryptonite? I consider myself mentally healthy. In every-day life I have more mental fortitude than the average man. However, give me one night throwing up, and I'm done...I mean DONE:
I've had a nice life.
My husband will get life insurance.
He'll find new love.
We have to die of something, right?
I just don't want to throw up again!
And then in the "morning after" I always wonder why I'm so mentally weak? I wonder how mothers survive morning sickness? And I realize that my husband couldn't find better love. Ha.
Yes, I missed the last three days of work because I've been healing from one night with a stomach virus, and now I have a weeks worth of work to accomplish in one Friday. Let's do this! I can do this.

I want to know...
...does anyone else think it's odd that while we were cruising on our American Airlines flight back to Dallas, which had WiFi capabilities, the flight attendant decided to announce the birth of William and Kate's baby boy to the whole plane?
All children are special gifts and while I wish William and Kate the very best, I don't understand the uproar in the U.S.A. over the birth of a foreign country's future king.
Is it just me?
I found this picture on the Internet- how beautiful was Diana? She's lovely. She also seemed to have been a good mother based on the men her boys have become, and perhaps that's the most important achievement of an individual's life- to raise honorable, happy children. I hope to try to achieve that goal "some day."
Can we make a new rule? All children need to be uproariously celebrated. Is it possible for American Airlines to announce the births of all children mid-flight?!
Hooray for all babies...including future kings!

I want to know...
...is it wrong that when I'm sitting next to a busty female I always stare at her breast during seated spinal twist? Last night my yoga neighbor came out of the pose early and she caught me! I'm gay, but I'm also a man...big boobs are distracting.

I want to know...
...is it wrong that sometimes I fantasize about doing something crazy. Like ordering something really expensive from Tiffany's or Americus Diamond (Ahem...) just to remain unpredictable and edgy? Is it wrong that I want to keep my husband fearful that I might spend all our money while he's away?
It would be a good story to tell as we aged: remember that time I drained our checking account on diamonds?

I want to know...
...if the College of Cardinals will create a Harlem Shake video at the Papal conclave?
They should.
They definitely should.
They should.
They definitely should.

I want to know...
...is it wrong that I enjoy telling my husband about newly discovered highly priced pieces of furniture I adore only because I know it makes him a little bit nervous?
I am controlled by the limits my husband puts on my spending. Sometimes I want him to sweat, because it reminds him of the enormous amount of self control I am continuously exerting for the benefit of our marriage and our future...
The first year of marriage I purchased a table and two chairs on my lunch hour. The total cost was around $1,400. I did not consult my husband prior to the purchase. That causes a bit of marital drama. Today we affectionately refer to the table as the "divorce table." Ah, we can laugh today. We weren't laughing in 2007. I have a passion for art, furniture, and home accessories. To help me be successful, my husband is the CFO of our household. He controls our money. He controls me!
This week I called my husband to tell him I needed to pay my Amex card, and I asked him if we had enough money in the checking account to cover the $1,200 bill. I heard the slightest chuckle before he answered yes. My next question: "how much money is in our checking account?" My husband replied with "What?" I've learned when my husband doesn't know how to answer me he pretends to not hear me. I'm sure he was logging onto our checking account at that very "what?" moment and moving funds. "We have enough to cover your bill."
My husband is gone a lot in pursuit of his MBA. He doesn't have to worry about me cheating on him; with the exception of Matt Damon. If the situation ever presents itself I can have a torrid love affair with the oh-so-manly Matt Damon; my husband has given me a hall pass for Matt Damon. (Do you think Matt Damon has a hall pass from his wife to have an affair with an unknown gay guy?!) My husband does have to worry about my spending. At times I like to make him worry...
I saw this hand carved white marble coffee table at MeCox over the weekend. The price? $5,800. In a store that also has a $10,000 coffee table that's not so insane. In real life (even in a DINK household) that's an insane amount of money to spend for a piece of furniture. This table is more art than furniture though. The picture doesn't capture its beauty; it's beautiful to see in person. Of course I am not an insane person (don't tell my husband), and I wouldn't spend that much money on furniture unless we were HNW individuals. This coffee table would look spectacular in our home!
My point for this post is that marriage has improved me. I am more disciplined with my spending. This spending example is just one example of how you can gain strength from your spouse. I love being married to my husband. He has made me a better individual.

I want to know...
...do you think I could get a free trip to Israel? I wasn't born Jewish in this life, but maybe in a previous life? I have Jewish friends. Jewish people get one free trip to Israel. It's their birthright. My husband will be working in Israel in December, and I want to go along, but a trip to Israel is expensive.
...do you think I'd get a first class ticket to hell if I told "Birthright Israel" that I need a free trip to Israel?

I want to know...
...can I put my 57 year old (today's her birthday) mother in a nursing home?! I think she'll be thirty years younger than everyone else, but maybe she'll be safer? She accidentally fell last week. She's okay. But I'm not okay! In December she fractured her skull and suffered a traumatic brain injury, which is healing still. I worry about her. Mothers are supposed to worry about their sons- that's normal. This son doesn't like worrying about his mother- I don't want that to become normal.
At least my mother gets up after she gets knocked down- figuratively and literally. Happy Birthday mom. I love you. Now, don't accidentally fall down any more.

I want to know...
...does it mean I'm addicted to coffee if at night when I'm in bed I think: 'if I go to sleep, then when I wake up it'll be morning and I can drink coffee'? I love a good strong cup of black coffee in the morning. I'm not addicted. I could quit. If I wanted to quit. Right?

I want to know...
...is it wrong that I hid the last fourth of the pound cake my mother made for me in our pantry before our company came over last night? I didn't want to serve it at dinner, because I wanted to make sure I had a piece with my coffee this morning. Does that make me a food hoarder?

I want to know...
...Is it strange that while pulling weeds out of our Saint Augustine grass I felt inspired to stack some of my old lawn chairs to create yard art? I did. It was fun. I even called my husband out to take photos of me sitting with Trigger and Dooley in that front blue chair. It was a masterpiece.

I want to know...
...is it possible to be addicted to crunchy peanut butter? I would be 20 pounds lighter if I didn't require a daily spoonful of crunchy peanut butter. I've tried to not purchase the stuff, but that just leads to midnight runs to Target followed by midnight peanut butter gorgings. I love crunchy peanut butter. SO MUCH!
